inviting nectar

By: Shelbi Henny

Sucking nectar that replaces air
permanently settling on motions that spill
claiming emotions that deliver in bulk
boxes and cartons of inventory
i carry loads
revealing that moment that captured my soul
starvation of exposure
that will confide in you
showing me and sparing no bars
no fumes
that trails to your nose
and places spells
coating your tongue and leaving piles of
laundry
withholding space
plowing pumpkin seeds in misty waters
soft sandy soil
and muddy roots
Knowing myself as vulnerable
growing into you
entwinning
feeling like high school kids
knowing our age depicts range
knowing our status places us against the generation
tickling the auxillary to placements
replaces air with flowers that bare fruit
did i really describe you
