We don’t belong

By shelbi Henny

Leger the formalities
That lead me a stray
To tackling the mass emotions
Caterpillars scattering
Open wounds
We lingered here
To tap the water
Into wine again
To space the closure
We provide the scam
Is it familiar
Is it ok
To walk on by
To switch both lanes
Is it uneasy
To feel this way
In defining what linked
This travesty
That we mistaken into
Empty canvases
Missed phone calls
And rumors
The deligency we crafted
To prolong separation
Everything from tsunamis
Hurricanes
And earthquakes
I stayed solid
But we liquified
It was destiny to meet
But it was fate to break apart
The monumental statement
We forgot to highlight and mark
We don’t belong together
